Results and Lessons from Field Testing of Local Adaptation Options for Agriculture in Drought‐Prone Areas of North‐Western Bangladesh
The “Livelihood Adaptation to Climate Change Project (LACC)” is a sub‐component of the Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) and jointly implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of Bangladesh.
The successful completion of this report has been possible thanks to the leadership provided by the DAE. The author wishes to acknowledge specifically the following individuals’ contribution: Dr. Hassan Raghib, the national project sub‐component manager (LACC‐II), who leads the project’s team in Dhaka; the members of the national validation team established under LACC I, and in particular the research institutes BARI and BRRI, who contributed to the selection of possible adaptation options (e.g. their suggestions and guidance of the testing of T. Aman‐mustard‐/linseed‐system, T.
